Born in 1997 in Bellinzona, Switzerland, Francesco is a Swiss filmmaker and writer of Italian origin. After initially studying psychology and architecture, he graduated in film directing from CISA — the International Conservatory of Audiovisual Sciences in Locarno — in 2025.
In his work he explores the relationships between the individual, space and context, maintaining a minimalist, observation-based approach. He directed Tusen Toner (2025), a graduation short film selected for the Locarno Film Festival's Pardi di domani — National Competition section, where it won the SRG SSR Silver Pardino.
He serves as Operations Director and Artistic Director of the Merge Film Festival and is co-founder of PoPaCi Pictures SNC.
