Merge Film Festival is an international festival dedicated to films created with or about artificial intelligence.

Born by PoPaCi Pictures, the Merge Film Festival, running from 1 to 4 October 2026 at Cinema Lux in Massagno, is Switzerland's first film festival dedicated to artificial intelligence.

The first edition brings 36 works in competition across three sections — Full AI, Hybrid and Experimental — judged by an international jury, alongside a Youth Jury and an Audience Jury. Four days of screenings, retrospectives, masterclasses and public talks: an opportunity to reflect on the role of artificial intelligence in creative processes and in the wider transformation of our relationship with images.

Merge stems from the need to provide a platform for a new form of cinematic language, whilst also serving as a space for reflection on the cultural phenomenon of artificial intelligence. A transformation that is challenging our relationship with reality.
